How to raise successful young men

20 03 2017

Here’s a story you would like.  A Father bought a BMW for his son who had just finished school, the boy crashed it in a week. Then the Man bought him  a Lexus. The boy crashed it in a month. The man came  asking,  “What shall I do?”

I told him to tell his son to go and get a job and buy his own car. That was what happened. After working for  a year, the boy saved enough money to buy an old Buick.  But he loved this car so much he polished it every morning. He never crashed the car. Why?  Because he bought it with the sweat of his own brow. He had respect for the car. He valued it.

Woman and the Parrot that wouldn’t eat: Short story

5 03 2017

A woman went to a pet store and purchased a parrot to keep her company. She took her new pet home but returned the next day to report, “That parrot hasn’t said a word yet!”

“Does it have a mirror?” asked the storekeeper. “Parrots like to be able to look at themselves in the mirror.” So she bought the mirror and returned home.

The next day she was back, announcing that the bird still wasn’t speaking.

“What about a ladder?” the storekeeper said. “Parrots enjoy walking up and down a ladder.” So she bought a ladder and returned home.

Sure enough, the next day she was back with the same story—still no talk.

“Does the parrot have a swing? Birds enjoy relaxing on a swing.” She bought the swing and went home.

The next day she returned to the store to announce the bird had died.

“I’m terribly sorry to hear that,” said the storekeeper. “Did the bird ever say anything before it died?”

“Yes,” the lady replied. “It said, ‘Don’t they sell any food down there”   Don’t rely on hearsay, when the welfare of your neighbor is at stake, ask them.

The Bridge is out :Short story

5 03 2017

A preacher was driving home one night with his wife and two daughters in the car. It was raining and dark and because of the intensity of the rain he could hardly see past his headlights. On the way he had to drive over a huge bridge. There were signs posted all along the bridge that said “DO NOT PICK UP HITCH-HIKERS.” There was an institution for the criminally insane near the base of the bridge and sometimes people would escape from it and try to hitch a ride. On this particular night, as he turned his car on to the bridge, he had to drive exceptionally slow because he could hardly see the road. Somewhere near the top of the bridge a man suddenly appeared in the headlights. He was soaked, standing in the middle of the road with his shirt off frantically waving it over his head and screaming.

This preacher’s wife began to say, “Oh please don’t stop, try to drive around him!” But the man was unavoidable and there was nowhere for the car to go to miss him. So he had to stop the car and as soon as he did, the man slapped his hand down on the hood of the car and was screaming at the top of his lungs. The preacher looked over at his wife and said to lock the door after him and not to unlock it until he returned. His family was now crying and pleading with him not to get out of the car. He opened the door and stepped outside…He was immediately soaked from the rain. As he approached the front of the car to grab the man, all of a sudden he could make out what the man was screaming, “THE BRIDGE IS OUT! THE BRIDGE IS OUT! A BUS LOAD OF KIDS JUST WENT OVER!” As these words registered in the pastor’s mind, he looked back in the car at his wife and two daughters. He wrapped his arm around the man and wept in gratitude. The preacher stood there with the man for the next half-hour in the middle of the road, waving his jacket above his head screaming.”THE BRIDGE IS OUT! THE BRIDGE IS OUT!”

For a lost and a dying world, “THE BRIDGE IS OUT!” For a people heading to a Christless Eternity,”THE BRIDGE IS OUT!”

where are the men and the women who will stand in the middle of the road and forbid people to perish ?

HELL HAS OPENED IT’S MOUTH WIDE AND MANY ARE SPEEDING INTO IT. Where are those who will stand in the gap, on the streets, the highways and the byways to forbid multitudes with the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST from going to such a horrible place ?

What goes around comes around

8 11 2016

Two Stories with HISTORIC LINK ………

What Goes around comes around♻

Both of them are True.

Here’s the First one: Maxwell Morrison was well and truly screwed. He was standing in a courtroom in Bangkok, waiting for his sentence. The offense was drug trafficking, and if found guilty, the sentence would be life in one of the most horrific prisons in the world. The problem was that Maxwell was innocent. The drugs had been found stashed in a musical instrument he had agreed to carry through the checkpoint for a woman who had appeared to have her hands full with a baby, two young children and a whole lot of hand luggage.
Of course, the moment the sniffer dogs singled him out for special attention, the woman and her children evaporated into thin air. He had tried to explain this to the judge in his super-fast-track case, which had so far lasted less than 45 minutes, but the prosecution had countered by pointing out that it would take a very stupid person indeed to be suckered into carrying anything through a security checkpoint for a stranger – especially in this modern post-9/11 world.

They had also pointed out that back home in Nottingham, Maxwell was a police officer. A security expert, who could never be as naïve as he was now pretending to be. Maxwell’s only counter-argument to that had been, “Appearances can be deceptive”.

The Judge had given him the strangest look when he said that. No, things were certainly not going well for him in this case. His only witness had been a British passenger who had seemed a bit drunk during her testimony. She admitted she had seen the woman hand the instrument to Maxwell, but added that they appeared to be travelling together. Again, Maxwell’s defence was, “Appearances can be deceptive”.

He remembered with irony the first time he had actually heard the expression “Appearances can be deceptive”. It was in the eighties. He was a teenager going through a punk rock phase. He wore nothing but black, had multiple body piercings and was always playing with a scary-looking flip-knife. All the kids in school were afraid of him and steered well clear. One afternoon when he was enjoying some peace and quiet behind the boat shed, listening to ‘Grateful Dead’ on his walkman, he heard a commotion. Three kids were bullying a foreign student. They were about to throw the little kid into the river, and the poor boy kept crying, “Please! Please, I can’t swim!”

Maxwell intervened. At first, the three bullies wanted to fight it out, but Maxwell was a good three inches taller than the tallest of them. Plus, he had his knife, and he made them believe he was happy to use it. So they dropped the little foreign boy and went off to find a new victim. Maxwell asked the relieved kid if he was alright. The boy adjusted his glasses, looked at Maxwell for a long moment and said, “Appearances can be deceptive”. “Why do you say that?” Maxwell asked. “Well, everybody thinks you’re scary. Some kids even said you stabbed a teacher once. You’re the last person I’d have expected to come to my aid. But thank you for doing so. I would have drowned if you hadn’t. In Thailand where I come from, you owe the person who saves your life an eternal debt which you spend the rest of your life paying back. My name is Tran Pack, and I will never forget what you did for me.”

With that, he shook Maxwell’s hand and ran off.

Back in the Bangkok courtroom, Maxwell allowed himself a wry smile as he recalled that childhood episode. Thirty years after he saved a Thai kid’s life, he was now a 45-year old policeman, about to spend the rest of his own life in a Thai prison, all because appearances can be deceptive. He snapped out of his reflections as the judge banged his gavel three times. It was time for the verdict. And that’s where I’ll end the first story…
Here’s the Second story. Judge Tran Pack could not believe his eyes when Maxwell Morrison walked into his courtroom. Thirty two years had not done much to change his appearance, so Tran recognised him at once. He listened patiently for 45 minutes and then banged his gavel three times before giving the verdict. “Mr Morrison, appearances can indeed be deceptive. Not guilty. You’re free to go.” And that is the end of the second story…

My people, I know I don’t need to say much more about the lessons from these two stories. As you live your lives, please take every opportunity to do something unforgettable for someone who can’t pay you back today. They’ll pay you back tomorrow with interest.

Kindness is not a debt you pay, but it is a seed you sow for future.

What Is The Cost of This Doll?

31 10 2016

A 6 yr old boy was in the market with his 4 yr old sister. Suddenly the boy found that his sister was lagging behind.
He stopped and looked back. His sister was standing in front of a toy shop and was watching something with great interest.

The boy went back to her and asked, “Do you want something?” The sister pointed at the doll. The boy held her hand and like a responsible elder brother, gave that doll to her. The sister was very very happy…

The shopkeeper was watching everything and getting amused to see the matured behaviour of the boy…

Now the boy came to the counter and asked the shopkeeper, “What is the cost of this doll, Sir? !”

The shopkeeper was a cool man and had experienced the odds of life. So he asked the boy with a lot of love & affection, “Well, What can you pay?”

The boy took out all the shells that he had collected from sea shore, from his pocket and gave them to the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper took the shells and started counting as if he were counting the currency. Then he looked at the boy. The boy asked him worriedly, “Is it less?”

The shopkeeper said, “No, No… These are more than the cost. So I will return the remaining.” Saying so, he kept only 4 shells with him and returned the remaining.

The boy, very happily kept those shells back in his pocket and went away with his sister.

A servant in that shop got very surprised watching all these. He asked his master, “Sir ! You gave away such a costly doll just for 4 shells ???”

The shopkeeper said with a smile, “Well, for us these are mere shells.

But for that boy, these shells are very precious. And at this age he does not understand what money is, but when he will grow up, he definitely will. And when he would remember that he purchased a doll with the Shells instead of Money, he will remember me and think that the world is full of Good people.

It will help him develop a positive attitude and he too in turn will feel motivated to be Good.”

Mind Mantra – Whatever emotion you infuse into the world, it will further spread. If you do good, goodness will spread. If you do bad, negativity will spread.

BUILDING WALLS OR CHARACTER?

9 10 2016

Who knows the 3 ways to destroy a nation?

Source: Anonymous
When the ancient Chinese decided to live in peace, they made the great wall of China, They thought no one can climb it due to its height. During the first 100 year of its existence, the Chinese were invaded thrice. … And every time, the hordes of enemy infantry had no need of penetrating or climbing over the wall…because each time they bribed the guards and came through the doors. The Chinese built the wall but forgot the character-building of the wall-guards
Thus the building of human character comes BEFORE building high walls and anything else…..
That’s what our Students and children need today! Like one of the Orientalists said:
If you want to destroy the civilization of a nation there are 3 ways:
1. Destroy family structure
2.Destroy education
3. Lower their role models and references
1. In order to destroy the family; undermine the role of Mother, so that she feels ashamed of being a housewife.
2. To destroy education: you should give no importance to Teacher, and lower his place in society so that the students despise him
3.To lower the role models: you should undermine the Scholars, doubt them until no one listens to them or follow them.
For when a conscious mother disappears, a dedicated teacher disappears and there’s a downfall of role models, WHO will teach the young ones …(our future leaders)?
How you can personally begin to tackle the problem, you have to become the change you want to see:-
Instead of belittling, uplift;
Instead of demolishing, rebuild;
Instead of misleading, light the way so that all of us can stand on higher ground.
TEACH THE YOUNG!
